Due to the grand opening of the Americus ball fields and vintage baseball game, the Honor Flight fundraiser at Harry & Lloyds has now turned into a postgame pulled pork dinner! We will be selling raffle tickets for Rolling Hills and Harry & Lloyds gift certificates in Americus at the vintage game as well as at Harry & Lloyds. NHHS Honor Flight would like to thank Rolling Hills and Harry & Lloyds for their continuous support of Honor Flight, and especially Mike Phillips for facilitating our meal!
USD 251 received a $300,000 federal grant to replace windows on both campuses. The NHHS office and gym windows have been installed. The NLC office windows have been installed. The NLC music room and science room will be completed by the end of May.
Regional Baseball & Softball brackets have been posted. The game times are suggested and will start based on the completion of the previous games.
Baseball will play Mon. 5/15 vs. SLC in Lyndon @ 4:30 PM
Softball will play Tues. 5/16 vs. MV in Alma @ 6:30 PM
Northern Heights High School students enjoyed a cook out today. Mr. Watkins and Mr. French grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for all students and staff.
USD 251 was awarded a Kansas Preschool Pilot grant yesterday by the Kansas State Board of Education in the amount of $89,750 for the 2023-2024 school year. This will be official after the Governor has signed a budget appropriating funds.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Northern Heights softball game @ Lyndon has been moved to Monday, May 8th. The baseball team will still play as scheduled on Friday. Both games will begin at 4:00 PM

Muffins with Mom this Friday!
Dr. Cottenmyre's zoonomics class visited Manhattan Sunset Zoo last Saturday to do research on zoo construction. They have been designing their own zoo based on different zoo models.
Come join the fun at the NLC Elementary School CARNIVAL tonight from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.! There will be lots of Carnival Games, yummy Walking Tacos, and a Silent Auction.

In order to accomodate a newly created page for the "Strategic Planning Committee" we had to move a couple of things on our webiste. The "Monthly Newsletter" is now nested under the "District" tab, the "Paperless Board Meetings" link can now be found under the "Board of Education" tab.
USD 251 North Lyon County is seeking applications for the position of Custodian. This is a 40 hour a week, 12 month, Monday - Friday position with benefits, including paid vacation and sick leave. Salary schedule placement will be determined by experience.

On Saturday, Northern Heights Forensics competed at the Regional Festival at Wamego. Hannah Cathcart received a two rating in Impromptu. Samantha Redelfs and Brylee McCullough received a 2 rating for their DUO performance.

The study will be presented to the USD 251 Board of Education on Wednesday, April 26th at 6:00 pm. The meeting location will be the NLC Elementary gym in Americus.
