DIRECTIONS: Take Highway 68 east out of Pomona. After you cross the railroad tracks, take a right (south) on Idaho Road, go 2 miles to a stop sign. Keep going straight after the stop sign (gravel road). Take the gravel road about ¾ mile, you will go around some curves, there will be a “Camp Chippewa” sign on the left side of the
road. Turn left at the sign and take the road back to the dining hall.
Note: LCL schools will also be running, but their scores/times are separated out.
This morning the Introduction to Ag class had the opportunity to practice judging live horses. Thank you Leah Wilson and Carla Allen for bringing the horses. The freshmen were able to practice reasons and receive feedback from senior FFA members.

5 students of the NHHS HOSA Chapter attended the Fall Leadership Conference in Manhattan on October 4th. Courtney Jones, Jena Hall, Addi Brown, Maylea Hamlin, and Sam Redelfs attended a variety of sessions ranging from animal science to mental health to radiology.
Thank you Jennifer Danler of Plum Creek Ranch for presenting to the Northern Heights Ag Business class today. She gave us good insight on ways we could market the beef we raise on our school farm.

Seventh grade elective went to Allen to help with cleanup in preparation of the Fall Festival. Students helped with cleaning the tennis courts, clearing tree branches, and the city office.
The NLC cross country team had an impressive day at Osage City. Every runner on the team made a personal record or reached a personal goal. Cooper Spade placed third in the junior high division and the boys team finished third out of a field of 10 teams. Congratulations team on your hard work.
The Preschool has been working hard today and have enjoyed getting some play time in.
NLC PTO spirit shirts are in. They will be sent home with students on Monday. Join them for their October meeting Monday, October 9 at 6:30 in the elementary library.

Civic engagement is in full swing at NLC junior high. Students have partnered with the Americus United Methodist Church. Students have been unloading and stocking items for the food pantry.
